Part of the church’s duties is to hold people accountable. Scripture is clear that God gives us everything we have. God is the owner of all things. Tithe is a part of a test from God. Do you have enough faith to follow God’s Word? God promises He will never leave you nor forsake you. He also promises that his followers will never beg for bread. He does not promise a lavish lifestyle or abundance until we go to heaven. Since God gives you everything, the test is: are you willing to give back to God what is His? A tithe, a tenth? We encourage all our people to be obedient to God's word. Tithing is 10% of our income, from “of everything you give me, I will faithfully return a tenth part to You” (Genesis 28:22). Almsgiving is sharing to special needs, as Jesus taught: “give alms... for where your treasure is, there also will your heart be” (Luke 12:33-34). There are also “offerings” for those things above and beyond your tithe. God loves a cheerful giver. Search your heart and give out of pure joy and excitement, never out of resentment. God blesses obedience!
